Sashiko (translates to Little Stabs) is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique.

The stitching was to reinforce garments where they might wear through or to repair tears or holes.  Traditional colours are white, cream, black, blue and red but you can use any colour in stranded threads.

There are also traditional stitch techniques but, if you just want to keep it simple, just follow the stitch lines with a simple running stitch.

These pre-printed panels are 85% cotton, 15% linen (beige) or 100% cotton (navy and white).  Threads are sold separately

They measure 35cm x 65cm (14 1/8" x 25 5/8") cloth size with a finished size of 30cm x 30cm (12" x 12")

Once finished stitching, give the cloth a gentle wash and the stitch marks will wash out.
